Sale (Salay)

A small town about 50 km South of Bagan down the Ayeyarwaddy River. U-Pone-Nya Museum, formerly The Yoke-Sone Monastery, which exhibits antique lacquer-wares, wooden carvings and a large standing gilded Buddha image. Another interest place to visit is the Mun Hpaya, which is said to be floated and stranded on the bank of the river is a Buddha statue made of woven bamboo strips and pasted with sawdust.
